Maggie McCormick manages communications at Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph and is constantly exploring how language, design, and relationships can support agri-food in the effort to create a more sustainable future for all.
Maggie’s career as a communicator began in the University of Guelph’s OAC Dean’s Office and continually evolved to support the university’s establishment of significant research programs and exploration of new avenues of engagement with agri-food industry and policy makers.
Maggie studied international development at the University of Guelph and corporate communications and public relations at Fanshawe College. She is currently studying part-time for a MSc. in Capacity Development and Extension, researching how communication drives engagement with climate change mitigation in the farming community. Outside of her role at AFI, she volunteers with Brant County 4-H and is an avid reader and crafter.
