Aaron Misener
Network Activator, SF4C
Aaron Misener is the Network Activator for Sustainable Food Systems for Canada (SF4C), a program co-led by the Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph. As the activator for the central node, Aaron engages the innovation ecosystem in Ontario and beyond to drive meaningful training and experiential education for SF4C participants.
Beginning his food systems journey with Bioenterprise Canada, an agri-tech focused accelerator, Aaron brings a passion for transforming ideas into accessible, actionable businesses. He received his BA., Hons and MA from McMaster University’s English and Cultural Studies program, harnessing a passion for creative writing into a deep understanding of language and critical thought. His seven year career with Bioenterprise Canada gave Aaron the network and specialty to support sustainability and food systems in Canada, as well as a passion for the work being done in Guelph’s premier institution in the agricultural sector, leading him to the University of Guelph and the Arrell Food Institute.
Aaron is an advocate for the value and skill development of young professionals and applies a leadership mentality of growth and celebration of excellence to his work. On his off time, you can find Aaron surrounded by children, cats, and dogs reading graphic novels, playing board games, or team chatting into a headset, controller in hand.
