He aspired to be a farmer at an early age, but ultimately was convinced to join the Canadian Armed Forces to become an Engineering Officer. After 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, he pursued interests in engineering management in the design of farm equipment and ultimately spent 2 years as the Lead Engineer on the Smart Seeder Max precision seeder. His next role was in senior management at Hylife, one of Canada’s top livestock production and processing companies. While spending time in the livestock industry, Ellery learned of the opportunities for more efficient industrial farming. His last two years in the corporate world were spent at as the Director of Operations for a farm supply business building farms across western Canada. From there, he decided to step out on his own in the development of patented Ag technologies in the pursuit of more efficient and planet-friendly industrial farming practices, to feed the world while being great stewards of its resources.
