Janice LeBoeuf
Sustainable Agriculture Lead
Janice LeBoeuf is the Sustainable Agriculture Lead with Arrell Food Institute. In this role, she focuses on food system issues, science, and policy from an agricultural perspective. She works with people and organizations both within and outside of the agri-food sector, supporting collaborations and fostering connections to advance shared goals for a more sustainable and equitable agriculture and food system. In her work, she has supported initiatives including the Loblaw Net-Zero Food Systems Challenge, Feeding the Future with Canadian Technology, and AFI’s work with the Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agri-food.
Janice is a graduate of the University of Guelph, where she completed an Honours B.Sc. in Agriculture. Her agri-food experience ranges from primary production to food processing to research and extension. A former provincial vegetable crop specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Janice has worked in various levels of government as well as the private sector. She is also a partner in her family farm in Southwestern Ontario.
Outside of work, Janice enjoys flying planes, paddling, hiking, participating in almost any sports activity that presents itself, and generally being active and outdoors in any weather. She tends to plan her vacations (and spent part of her career) around historical sites and museums.
