Muriel O’Doherty is the Events Manager at Arrell Food Institute, where she plans and executes AFI’s portfolio of events. She is committed to convening inclusive and high-quality meetings that always maintain the participants’ experience at the heart of each event.

Muriel’s event management career spans over ten years and she has held positions at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Sea to Sky Meeting Management, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Centre for International Government Innovation. She has managed a wide variety of events, including large-scale conferences, high-level meetings, tournaments, festivals and gala fundraisers.

Muriel has a Bachelor of Science degree in business and hospitality from Cornell University, with a concentration in Special Events Management. She also holds a Digital Event Strategist certification from the Professional Convention Management Association.

Outside of AFI, Muriel enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, teaching herself how to cook new dishes, and dreaming about her next beach holiday.
