Soraya Olszewski
Communications Coordinator
Soraya Olszewski (so-RAY-a Oh-chef-ski) is a Communications Coordinator at the Arrell Food Institute, where she supports the team through design, social media, brand strategy, and storytelling. Her work focuses on helping research reach broader public audiences and supporting knowledge sharing in ways that are clear, engaging, and accessible.
With a background in environmental communication and experiential education, Soraya brings a thoughtful and people-centred approach to her role. She is motivated by the potential of storytelling to connect research, education, and community in support of an equitable, just, and sustainable food system.
Soraya is a graduate of the Environmental Visual Communication program offered by the Royal Ontario Museum and Fleming College. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Outdoor and Experiential Education from Queen’s University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Guelph.
Outside of work, Soraya can often be found chasing her sense of wonder and collecting good days outside sailing, camping, or wandering. She draws inspiration from place, interconnectedness, and possibility and is rarely without a creative project on the go.
