From the earliest moment of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been questions and concerns about the food system’s resilience and its impact on everyone from farmers to consumers.

The Canadian agri-food sector is considering how to demonstrate its leadership on environmental sustainability and other indicators of being a trusted food leader. A coalition of partners, including Arrell Food Institute, has come together to advance this idea and reach out to stakeholders across the country. A webinar with thought leaders from here and abroad was held on April 16, 2020. The National Index on Agri-Food Performance project will complete its work in early 2021.

COVID-19 created serious disruption in the Canadian and global food systems. This webinar series considered sectors experiencing specific challenges and featured experts in those fields to identify lessons learned and ways forward.
